Lincoln county

 Along with the many Confederate soldiers that were from Lincoln County, there were several other Confederate connections between some of the widely know Confederates and this area.

John Robertson Massey Confederate Mayrtr
Forrest made his way through Lincoln County several times and was in Fayetteville on September 28, 1864. 
Sam Davis was on a scouting operation and was in Fayetteville a short time before he was captured and hanged in Pulaski.
